My Approach
Neurodiversity Affirming
Neurodiversity can be defined as “diversity of human minds with focus on the infinite variation in neurocognitive functioning.” – Dr. Nick Walker. If you’d like to read more about Neurodiversity click here for an article by Harvard Health.
I believe we are all on a unique journey in life, and all aspects of our personhood holds strengths to aid us in that journey. I honor and embrace the richness neurodivergence brings to our world, and prioritize as a therapist to uphold this and to not diminish the qualities that make a person neurodivergent.
Relationship Based
Relationships are a pivotal component to our life experiences and how we view the world. Throughout our life span the relationships and connections we hold shapes our beliefs, attitudes and even the “path” we take in life. That is why at Life Pathways Therapy, LLC the relationships you hold within therapy and outside therapy are essential to successful treatment. I deeply value the client – therapist relationship I build with my clients, parents and caregivers during their therapy journey with me. I truly believe healthy, connected relationships can “move mountains” when overcoming personal challenges.
