Individual Therapy

I typically work with children starting at 3 years of age to adolescent years, Young Adults, Parents and/or Caregivers.

Areas of Need I Support:

Caregiver role in their child’s therapy: Caregivers play a vital role in their child’s day to day life, and mental health treatment has the best outcomes when a client is living in a supportive environment. I truly believe parents know their children best; I seek to partner with parents to help create a supportive environment for the success of their child. Therefore, I expect caregivers to be very involved in the therapeutic process.

Autism - PDA - ADHD support

I have a passion for helping clients navigate any emotional or social challenges that may arise in connection to their neurotype, specifically working with those who are Autistic or with ADHD. My goal is to support client’s, parents’ and/or caregivers’ understanding of neurodivergence and ways to support the client’s development of skills to aid in self-advocacy, autonomy and positive mental health. Treatment methods will vary by client and family need, but I take a brain-based approach. This is represented as honoring sensory needs, utilizing person-centered emotional regulation skill building, supporting caregiver understanding of the client’s neurotype and ways for the caregiver to partner with their child to build a stronger connection, to supporting mutual perspective taking skills and social problem-solving.

Parenting Support

Parent Consultation typically is a service that is interwoven within individual therapy with a child client or during parent/child therapy. Depending on the child’s needs, diagnosis, and neurodevelopment, certain coaching methods are used. Below are a few of the methods I am trained in:

– Collaborative and Proactive Solutions Model: Click HERE and HERE for more information.

– Whole Brain Child Strategies: Click Here

– Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

- Beyond Behaviors - A Polyvagal Approach

– Parent Management Training (PMT)

NOTE: If a parent is seeking a few coaching sessions without including their child in formal therapy or parent/child therapy, I will only be taking self-pay for these stand-alone “booster” services at this time. If your child is an existing client while seeking parent coaching, it may be possible through your insurance if the child’s treatment plan is still active.

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

This approach is designed for children ages 2 to 7 years of age. PCIT is an evidence-based treatment for young children with behavioral challenges (please note I do not provide this approach to clients with a confirmed or suspected Autism diagnosis). PCIT is done across two treatment phases. The first phase of treatment focuses on reestablishing warmth in your relationship with your child through learning and applying skills proven to help children feel calm, secure in their relationships with their parents, and feel good about themselves. The second phase of treatment will equip you to manage your child’s behaviors while remaining confident, calm, and consistent in your approach. With consistent, weekly attendance and homework completion, PCIT can be completed within 12-20 sessions on average.

Good Faith Estimate Agreement

Standard Notice: “Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” Under the No Surprises Act

Beginning January 1, 2022:  If you’re uninsured or you pay for health care bills yourself ("self-pay"/"paying out of pocket"; you don’t have your claims submitted to your health insurance plan), providers and facilities must provide you with an estimate of expected charges before you receive an item or service.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under this law, health and mental health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, you can visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at (800) 368-1019.
